Disneyland History at Costa Mesa, California

Disneyland History -

The vision for Disneyland began with a yearning for small-town America. Walt Disney, probably the most famous cartoon animator ever, longed for a place like the small town where he grew up, Marceline, Missouri, and the Main Street that ran through it. Thus, as he and his team of designers put together plans for Disneyland, he made sure that Main Street, U.S.A. would be the first thing visitors experienced upon entering the Anaheim park. Disneyland officially opened in the summer of 1955, and it's been delighting generations ever since.
